Kent Life boasts over 60 varieties of Apple, which will be hand picked from our historic orchards just days before the festival. The apples will be on sale here over the weekend to try & buy some varieties even date back to the 1500’s! Along with your stash of apples don’t forget your free apple cookbook featuring some old fashioned favourites. You can also watch the traditional process of apple pressing. Fresh apples are cut, crushed, pulped and then squeezed in our giant Victorian press to produce the most delicious apple juice. A fun event for all the family to learn about basic bush craft and foraging. Join our warden, Paul for an insight into the popular past time of foraging and learn about the properties of our native plants and their uses. Paul will also talk about some basic bushcraft techniques that he uses when foraging in the field. Wear sensible footwear (boots recommended) and appropriate clothing for the weather. Mostly flat on well laid paths with no stailes, however some ground may be rough, wet and muddy. Assistance dogs only. Refreshments are available to purchase from small cafe and there is an outside picnic area.

Reward yourself for surviving her stories with a cup of Hot Chocolate and a toasted marshmallow – the perfect Halloween treat.


Wacky Witches and Wizards at Half TermBack to the Top

Find our wacky witches and wizards around the Castle grounds and listen to their spooky tales although beware, they often get themselves in a monster muddle. Our silly sorcerers are making big mistakes, note them on your trail card to be rewarded with a chocolate prize. A spooky quest is available in the Woodland Walk for younger visitors (small additional charge applies). Join in the fancy dress competition at 2pm each day, dance in the 'Monster Mash Ball' and take part in the spooky games this Halloween half term.

You along with your fellow survivors must gather at the Registration Point to be processed before being guided through Kent Life to the Safe Zone, the only way to survive the outbreak. Back by popular demand and the perfect way to end our week of spooky fun with Willa the Witch, join us for a Spooktacular Low Bangs Fireworks Display!! The display will take place in the Adventure Playground with the first firework taking flight at 5.45pm. The fireworks we have chosen are low bangs* suitable for all ages so if your little ones are nervous of large bangs this is the display for you. The display is included in your entrance ticket price and free to season ticket holders so come along and join in the fun and help us end Spooktacular Halloween 2017 on a high!
